Best Black Gay Erotica, Part 2: this isn’t a sequel by Richard C. Jones
I purchased this title on a whim, thinking it will be a great compliment to Best Black Gay Erotica.

I think it is. The writing gets right to the point in the sense that there is not a lot of foreplay, i.e. such as it is in these types of scenarios.

There are certainly hits and misses: the hit, thus far, A Stranger’s Smile,

I’d add this to my collection only because there aren’t that many other choices for black men who enjoy the comfort of other black men.

Luscious Erotic Lit by Stanley Bennett Clay
Author Will Kane (an obvious nom de plume), making his literary debut with this collection of black gay male erotica, has placed himself in that small cadre of writers able to spin tales of raw sex, reality that reads like fiction, and poetically rendered kink, with admirable confidence and skill.

And I do not use the term “literary” lightly, as Mr. Kane, whose day job is that of a Certified Insolvency and Restructuring Advisor, raises the bar on descriptions of sexual encounters, settings, characters, and emotional responses, with a poetic skill reminiscent of Anne Rice and The Marquis de Sade, of which he is somewhere in the middle; more explicit than the former, less sadistic than the latter. And as explicit as the sex is, there are no gross-outs here.

More than just a rudimentary teller of tales, Kane, in his nineteen-story collection (plus a fascinating mock interview epilogue) let’s us ride along with him as he sexually engages a good number of black, Latino, and Asian male paramours in every way imaginable, with the occasional white male freak thrown in for good measure. There’s not a lot of lovemaking in these 288 pages, but lots and lots of equal opportunity sex.

Kane does not hide the fact that his stories are fictitious takes on his real life experiences, disclaiming eloquently in his introduction:

“Thus I have taken the liberty of mixing things up; taking the plethora of sexy soirees, minor and major indiscretions, sleazy encounters, anonymous gropings [sic], and just out and out damn horny pig debaucheries that have been the story of my life these many years, stuck them in a metaphorical blender, and hit “Whip.”

In “One Front Street” Kane is led by a six-foot-eight inch, two hundred thirty-five pounds, pure-muscle Blatino drag queen to a club underneath the Brooklyn Bridge. The drag queen’s vise grip on his `private part’ encourages him to follow without question. Here he meets a gorgeous and `gifted’ Dominican man. The description of their sexual encounter runs three pages, with nary a wasted word.

“Midnight Showing” opens with our hero’s business trip to London and his hot tryst with an exceedingly handsome Sikh cabdriver in the backseat of the cabbie’s moenymaker

During a circuit party in San Juan, Puerto Rico, (”Max Redux”) a basketball game between a team of buff, mainland brothers, and a team of local cholos, determines tops and bottoms.

A naked run through America’s largest municipal park, which also happens to be one of Los Angeles’ most notorious cruising locations, pays off around the clock in “A.M-Griffith Park-P.M,” while “Men Out of Uniform” gleefully details an orgy Kane ends up in with a couple of Navy Seals, a pair of Gunnery Instructors, and a beautiful Mexican cleaning attendant on the outskirts of San Diego, near Camp Pendleton.

“Banker’s Hours” is a haunting meditation of time and place with an unexpected twist.

There are so many encounters chronicled here that one can easily become dizzied. Though at times they tend to become repetitious, they never fail to “excite.”

But it is still about the exquisite writing, masterfully alternating between poetic narrative and the profanely stimulating.

This is not a book for the prudish, but considering the new openness with regards to homosexuality, straight women’s bourgeoning fascination with gay male sex, and a new sexual maturity among African Americans (in spite of some antediluvian sectors of the black church); “Forbidden Fruit” is a highly satisfying page-turner and, quite frankly, a highly satisfying turn-on.Looker: A Novel

“You Know You Would If…”

Will Kane is new on the literary scene but he gives us hot, black gay erotica in his kinky anthology “Forbidden Fruit”, The book is composed of 19 stories and an introduction and an epilog and the work is provocative as it looks at sex in a way that heightens temperatures and libidos.

Will Kane is a corporate man by day but at night he roams the dark and mysterious world of sadomasochism and leather. The stories he gives us celebrate sexuality from the point of view of an African American male. He looks at the S/M culture and black leather clad society as an opposite to his button-down collar daytime job in corporate management. He takes n a journey to the limits of pleasure and sometimes beyond. Kane is a very good erotic writer and he is a fantastic tour guide through a “nothing-left-to-the imagination” world of African American sex. But this is not just about African Americans. Kane has something for everyone here and the anthology of his own stories is intimate. Filthy (in a delicious way) and completely liberating. He dares us to come along and participate in his odyssey but he also invites us to come along. Kane describes himself as “am avowed heretic, screwing conventional wisdom since the day he left the womb and hit on the obstetrician for a Cuban cigar and a double shot of Kentucky bourbon in the delivery room.” This was just the beginning. He was a Young Republican who loved Barry Goldwater and somewhere along his way to self-discovery, developed a taste for sadomasochism “by inflicting pain on willing submissives and indulging his masochistic tendencies by enduring36 hours of tattooing (so far) and numerous piercings of his private parts which he relishes secretly feeling up while sitting in boring creditor’s committee meetings. He lives in New York and is a Certified Insolvency and Restructuring Advisor, which, I understand, is a highly “evolved subspecialty of S/M”.

“Forbidden Fruit” is one of those books that must be read to believe what it says…and it says a great deal.
