Good Visual Resource by Meredith K. Mizell
In the tradition of other Dover publications, this book provides artists, designers and craftspeople with high-quality images for use in a multitude of applications. The seed packet images in this book are by and large excellent examples of the popular lithograph illustrations of the time. The layout of the book itself is nothing spectacular and there is no accompanying text, but it’s just the vehicle for the images, so none of the bells and whistles are missed. In my opinion, the CD-ROM is the real gem here - it contains all the images from the books in 300 dpi TIFF and JPEG formats and is invaluable for those who want to manipulate the images via graphics programs such as Photoshop. It certainly saves a lot of time that you would otherwise spend scanning the printed images onto the computer.
Overall, this book is a solid addition to any visual resource library.
